If you drive Volvo S70, V70, XC70 or C70 you probably had check engine light on at least once, it is very common for these cars to do that. Every time that happens to me I don't want to go to dealer or Autozone to rent one, instead I like to use my own. I find ODB II tools helpful enough. There are different types of them on the market. I recommend pro series for around $100

If it goes to GPS system I highly recommend Garmin nuvi 650. It has a wide screen, The screen resolution is beautiful. The speech is very clear, turns are articulated well in advance with very specific details, such as "In .6 miles, turn left onto I-66 East..." instead of "Turn left ahead and take the highway." (TomTom One) Battery life seems to be about 5-6 hours, certainly longer than the TomTom One that this replaced. Garmin even makes special clip which will fit volvo cars.

If you are like me and don't like to pay much for a car, I created a search for Volvos with salvage title. These are either already fixed Volvos or need to be fixed. If it goes to the salvage title it only means that the cost of repair was higher than 70% of the total value of the car. In case of older Volvos when it comes to repair the cost of parts at the dealer is high and when the value of the car is already low. Every salvage Volvo needs to be inspected by police officer which means that the parts used for it weren't stolen and the car is property fixed. Depending on the state registration of car with salvage title looks different so please check with your local secretary of state before buying one. In lots of cases you will save lots of money getting Volvo with salvage title which is already fixed and inspected.
